My name is Katia, and my favourite thing to do on Earth is connect with Nature and all of its creatures. I grew up surrounded by animals and was always immersed in the outdoors. Without that connection, I wouldn’t be who I am today. I wanted to create something (or many things, in my case haha) that reflects my love for and connection to Nature.

I spend a lot of time in nature and love photographing my surroundings, as well as my interactions with wildlife. I wanted to share that magical experience with others, which is how my journey into painting began. To me, nature is playful and colourful, and with each line and shape I aim to capture not only the form, but the spirit and personality of the animals that grace my world. 

Salve making came about as a necessity for me. I’ve always had sensitive skin with lots of blemishes, and it was nearly impossible to find skincare products that didn’t cause irritation or make things worse. After reading a few books and watching some videos, I decided to create my own salves to support my skin without triggering a reaction. I focused on using organic, natural ingredients and keeping the list minimal to create a potent yet gentle formula. Family members wanted to try them too, and their positive feedback inspired me to start sharing my salves with the public.

I also studied fashion design. My passion for sewing began when I couldn’t find garments in my size, or when the pieces I wanted simply didn’t exist. I earned a degree in fashion design and began experimenting with a variety of fabrics until one caught my attention, fleece. I still sew with many other types of fabric, but I especially enjoy creating with fleece.

I have many other passions, like pottery and watercolour painting, as well as sports such as swimming and mountain biking! I believe my passion for experiencing and expressing life comes from the realization of how magical this planet truly is. I’ve experienced various health issues, surgeries, and injuries, which have contributed to how I interact, see and value life today.
